There are several reasons why couples may choose wedding ring sets instead of separate wedding rings. Wedding ring sets can include bridal ring sets or they can also refer to matching wedding rings for the bride and groom. Both options provide a beautiful symbol of love and commitment for the couple.

Diamonds and gems are one way to match wedding rings for both the man and the woman. Other options include selecting wedding band sets that are made of the same metal or the same combination of metals. Typically wedding rings are made from durable metals such as titanium, platinum, silver or white or yellow gold.

One very popular option for either bridal sets or matching wedding ring sets is intricate designs and insets on the bands. These insets or designs can form repeating patterns or they can be a single symbol or design on the band. Often diamonds can be used to enhance the design of the inset or pattern.

Engraving on wedding rings, either on the outside or the inside of the band, is also a popular way for couples to have matching rings. This engraving may have a message of love or commitment or it can have the couple’s initials, wedding date or other information that the couple has selected.

Couples that wish to have completely identical matching wedding rings can elect to purchase the rings as a set. Plain bands can be identically engraved or even matching diamonds can be added to the rings for a truly matching set.

Matching wedding rings and wedding ring sets also have to match with the woman’s engagement ring. Many couples choose to purchase simpler, more classically styled wedding bands to match with a fancier or more detailed type of engagement ring. These bands will match with virtually any engagement ring and add to the overall presentation of the ring rather than competing with the engagement ring.

Often with matching wedding rings the rings themselves are not exactly the same. Typically the men’s wedding band will be wider and heavier than the woman’s, which will be finer and narrower. Detailing around and in the band will be identical, making the rings a true match.

Choosing wedding rings that are matching but are also in keeping with both of the couple’s styles is important. Since wedding rings also have to coordinated with the woman’s engagement ring this will be an important consideration as well.
